About Mirror Puzzle

Mirror Puzzle is a light-routing game. A source sends a beam into a chamber, and you place mirrors to change where it travels. The goal is to guide focused light to the torch. Placement and rotation solve different parts of the problem: a mirror must first intercept the beam, then face the right way to send it onward.

A useful approach is to read the chamber as a sequence of straight segments connected by reflections. Start with the light source, identify the first obstacle or turning point, and plan toward the torch. Avoid changing several objects at once; when the beam changes, you want to know which adjustment caused it.

Solve one reflection before adjusting the next

A mirror near the beam is not the same as a mirror in the beam. Before experimenting with its angle, check that the incoming light actually reaches its surface. If the first segment misses entirely, moving or replacing the mirror is a different problem from rotating a mirror that is already intercepting light.

How to Play Mirror Puzzle

Open the official player, press PLAY, and enter the first level. Identify the source, torch, tool selection and mirror allowance. The checked first chamber allowed one mirror. A small allowance is a reason to plan a turning point before placing objects, rather than treating the board as an unlimited drawing area.

Select the Mirror tool and click an empty area to place a mirror. In our first-level check, this changed the mirror counter from 0/1 to 1/1 and advanced the tutorial to the rotation instruction. That counter helps distinguish successful placement from a click that only changes a selection.

Select the placed mirror and drag the lever on the left to rotate it. Make a small adjustment, release, and watch the new outgoing beam. The lever controls the selected mirror, so confirm which object is selected before deciding that the angle control is affecting the wrong part of your route.

Work backward from the torch as a planning exercise. Ask what final straight segment could reach it, then where a mirror would need to sit to connect that segment to the incoming light. Check whether that meeting point is open and whether the level gives you enough mirrors for the route.

When light goes in an unexpected direction, separate the diagnosis into position and angle. If the beam never touches the mirror, inspect placement. If it touches but leaves toward the wrong wall, inspect rotation. If the outgoing segment is aimed correctly but stops short, look along that segment for an obstacle.

The official description introduces later environmental objects such as portals, ice, prisms and powder kegs. Read the current chamber’s tools and instructions when they appear. Do not assume that every object behaves like a mirror or that a route which reaches the right area also satisfies the torch’s lighting requirement.

Controls

  • Choose the Mirror tool, then click an empty area to place a mirror.
  • Click an existing mirror to select it.
  • Drag the left lever to rotate the selected mirror.
  • Use the in-game level, undo and menu controls when reviewing your arrangement.

Tips & Tricks

  • Identify the source and torch before spending the mirror allowance.
  • Check beam contact before changing the angle repeatedly.
  • Adjust one mirror at a time so you can read the resulting light path.
  • Trace the full outgoing segment for walls or other obstacles before planning another reflection.

Troubleshooting the first mirror

If the allowance still reads 0/1 after a placement attempt, check the selected tool and try an open area. Once it reads 1/1, select the placed mirror and use the lever. The tutorial’s change to “ROTATE THE MIRROR UP TO THE TORCH” marks the transition from placing the object to adjusting it.

Avoid copying a guessed lever position from a different window size. Watch the actual reflected beam and make small corrections toward the target. The useful feedback is the path inside the chamber, not a particular percentage of the slider track.

Why Play Mirror Puzzle Here

Mirror Puzzle suits players who enjoy reading a visible cause and effect. Arrow Escape offers another route-reading puzzle, with exit lanes instead of reflections.

Mirror Puzzle FAQ

Why does turning the lever seem to do nothing?

Select the placed mirror first, then check whether the incoming beam reaches it. Rotating an unlit mirror will not redirect a beam that misses its surface.

What does 1/1 mean in the opening chamber?

One mirror has been placed out of the one-mirror allowance. Our placement check changed the display from 0/1 to 1/1.

Should I change position and rotation together?

Try one change at a time. First intercept the incoming beam, then adjust its outgoing direction. This makes mistakes easier to diagnose.

Is aiming generally toward the torch enough?

Trace the actual beam segment and any intervening obstacles. The goal is to deliver light to the torch, so a roughly similar direction is only a starting point.
